Thick-tailed Bushbaby
This shy nocturnal animal feeds on insects, fruits and the gum that is exuded from the bark of some of the forest trees like the flat-crowns. The lower incisors are like small chisels that chip away at the bark.

Blue Duiker
This antelope is the smallest buck at Zimbali, and is on the endangered list. Zimbali’s forests are a secure home to about 20 pairs of these dainty animals.

Vervet Monkey
These highly territorial animals are found in the coastal forest across the estate, in the bush along the beach and inland in the west. They feed on a variety of fruits, flowers, young shoots and birds’ eggs.
